Stan Muessle (President) is a retired IBM marketing and product development executive who then spent several years as a Management Consultant in the field of teamwork and effective persuasion skills in internal corporate relationships. In 1997 he founded Global Outreach to introduce computer literacy into the Tanzanian secondary school curriculum as a way of improving student skills and increasing educational opportunities. He is a leading advocate of the power of computer and Internet technology to change the quality of education in developing nations. Mr. Muessle is a graduate of the University of Portland where he earned a degree in Business Administration.In 2014 the University of Portland honored Mr. Muessle with the Thomas C. Oddo Award as Alumnus of the Year for Outstanding Service for his work in Tanzania. He did his post-graduate work in English at Loyola University in Chicago. He is an avid golfer and with his wife teaches computer courses on cruise ships around the world. He and his wife Betty live in Bradenton, Florida. Mel Hochhalter (Secretary) is a retired executive who for many years was responsible for information systems and data processing world-wide for Nike, Inc. He joined Stan Muessle in 2001 in the work of Global Outreach when they made a trip to Pommern Village, Tanzania to upgrade the computer laboratory. He has made a second trip with Stan in support of the project. He also provides the main support for the non-computer projects that have been underwritten by Global Outreach. Mr. Hochhalter is a graduate of the University of New Mexico in Electrical Engineering, a retired U.S. Navy officer, an avid birder and dedicated bicycle rider. Edward M. Cassidy (Treasurer) is a certified rehabilitation counselor and the Director of Human Resources for a municipal government with an employee base in excess of 1,500 persons. For the past two decades he has served as the Chief Fiscal Officer for Heritage Centers, a $30+ million not-for-profit agency with a diverse range of federal, state, and local government funding sources Mr. Cassidy has also served as an adjunct professor of economics, business psychology, and organization behavior and leadership at the college level. Mr. Cassidy is a magna cum laude graduate of Niagara University. He holds a Master of Science degree in counseling from Niagara and a Master of Business Administration degree from Canisius College. Jan Pullen (Director) is currently the Head of School at Saint Stephen's Episcopal School, a PK-12th grade college preparatory, independent school in Bradenton, Florida. She was appointed to this position in July of 2003 after having worked in other administrative roles at the school since1988. She has provided the leadership for Saint Stephen's to create a partnership with the Lugalo Secondary School in Tanzania for the purpose of furthering the educational objectives of the two schools. Prior to coming to Saint Stephen's, Pullen worked at Manatee Community College for eight years in the Parent Resource Program and in Hillsborough County schools for three years. Jan holds both a BS and M.Ed in education, and in 2013 she received her doctorate degree in educational leadership and organization from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Pullen has presented workshops at the national level for the National Association of Independent Schools, the National Association of Episcopal Schools, and the National Council for Teachers of English. Dr. Pullen makes Bradenton her home with her husband Jim. She is the mother of three grown children and grandmother of four beautiful granddaughters. Dr. Pullen can be reached at
